Unexpected Joy!
Tonight while we were preparing Eli's toothbrush, he says to me with excitement,"Ma, watch me!" He then takes a long slow exhale through his NOSE! He hasn't been able to do that since his p-flap surgery almost six months ago! He then proceeds to breath in and out through his nose with a pleased smile on his sweet little face. God bless him! His doctor said it could take a year for the swelling to go down and all of the scar tissue to loosen up. He has his next appointment at Gillette Children's early next month. (9/11) In the back of my mind I have been worried that an adjustment surgery was going to be necessary soon. Maybe not now?? He still suffers from a bit of sleep apnea. This new nose breathing is going to improve that too! I'm all weepy about this! So happy for our honey! I'll be praying that this trend continues and the airway loosens up a little bit more.

Eli is 4!
Today I am 4! Happy Birthday to Meeeeeeee!Favorite Snack: Bananas ... still! Big, no cut.
Favorite Breakfast: Pancakes ... and then sometimes a banana for dessert. Occasionally I want pancakes for dinner. Mom's cool with that. As long as it isn't too often.
Favorite Food: Noodles (expecially at Yu's), chicken drummies (on the bone, not boneless), shrimp (only breaded) and baked potatoes (not mashed)
Favorite Drink: Pop (which is actually a lemon lime flavored Talking Rain water.)
What I'm watching: Sid the Science Kid, Wild Kratts (do we have a future scientist or biologist?)
Favorite Movie: Cars and Cars 2
What I saw in the Theater: Madagascar 3 (didn't care for), Brave (little scary, but liked it)
Favorite Song: Itsy Bitsy Spider
Favorite Story: Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Favorite Toys: After my last surgery I played with my puzzles a lot! Since then, I haven't played with them so much, just sometimes. Otherwise I loved my GeoTrack trains and my cars that make lots of noise and drive around.
Things I like: This summer my favorite thing to do is to play kickball outside, and swing in my tire swing. The higher the better!
When I am inside I often ask my parents to drive MarioKart on the Wii.
I love my red shirt. The one with the long sleeves. When I am really tired or feeling blue, I will ask for my red shirt. My favorite colors seem to be red and yellow.
Achievements: I am talking much more clearly now. B - P - T - D are very common sounds now. I am working on my G & K sounds. Sometimes I will use an S sound which makes everyone happy.
I am now out of diapers during the day. I don't need help in the bathroom either ... unless the toilet is too high up.
I wear pull ups at night and if I am going to take a nap. Mom and dad says that's okay and not a big deal, so that's good to know.
Need to work on: Mom says I need to lighten up on the bossiness with her. She says my favorite phrase with her is, "Right now, mama!" I say she just needs to pick up the pace when I ask for something, even if I am sitting on the couch already eating a freeze pop while watching a movie. She sometimes calls me her Little Emperor. Which finger are my parents wrapped around? Oh yeah, that's right ... all of them!
