New Years Eve

One year ago today I started our blog. I didn't know if I would use it much. I didn't know if I would like it. I didn't know what I would blog about. Turns out I do use it. I do like it. And I do have things to blog about. It's probably not that interesting to most ... but I can tell from the counter below that people do 'stumble' across it ... so, there you go! To those who 'stumble' on and to those that are more faithful readers of my ramblings .... HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU! I hope this year bring you all good health and happiness! (...and more than two months of referrals for 2006!!!)

I was in Sam's Club today to pick up some snacks to take with us to our New Years Eve destination ... and this book caught my eye. It is big and beautiful and full of photos! Looks like some good reading too! So I bought myself a New Years gift. Something to look at when I need a break from scrapping and knitting this winter. (It is a DK book - for those interested.)

THANK YOU ALL! Our January Jiaozi group had a swap during the month of November. These are the darling fun things we received from the nice people in our group. Books, Bibs, Booties, Bath thermometer (turtle), Blanket, and LadyBugs! They are all tucked safely away in their new homes. Waiting patiently to be used. You all are AWESOME! Thank you again!

Mackenzie

We went to our nieces home last weekend to visit a bit with her family. This is my dear, sweet, Godchild! We played with her toys for a while (she served us cocoa, pizza, ice cream, and eggplant) and then went out for real pizza. :D

Ornaments!

I am excited to have started another collection of beautiful things! Christmas Ornaments! Hallmark has such wonderful ornaments. It will be fun to add to our collection every year. (did that sound a little like a commercial?) Anyway, this is the first ornament I bought. Holiday Takeout. It represents us waiting for our referral. The message inside the cookie reads, "What good fortune to have each other." (AWE!!)
Then I thought ... we need an ornament from last year! So I went to good ol' eBay! This ornament is perfect for when we decided to adopt. Parents to be. It has both Jim's love of reading and my favorite hobby as of lately ... knitting! I found this airplane there too ... to represent when our dossier went to China. We'll call it our Red DTC! Today a friend of mine at work gave me this gift! How totally cute! Joy to the World! It is of a little Chinese child with a Chinese building. This will celebrate our LID earlier this year! Thank you Bobbi! This was so sweet of you!

Christmas in China

Christians in Mainland China celebrate Christmas privately, but recently many urban areas have been decorated with Christmas ornaments. Children hang stockings for Saint Nick, affectionately known as “Christmas Old Man,” and usually place a decorated tree in the living room.

10!

A state of peace and quiet. I love this picture. It looks calm and peaceful. I have been doing pretty well at remaining tranquil during the wait. There are days I wonder WHY IS THIS TAKING SO LONG! But for the most part ... Zen. (HA! -Do you believe that one?!)
