Happy Thanksgiving!

To everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving ... I hope you enjoyed your day! DH and I spent most of the day apart. Him with his family and me with mine. Ate too much. But that's what your supposed to do, right? When we returned to our home I kicked his butt in scrabble! Okay ... not really. But I did win. Not by much. But still!
What I am thankful for:
1. husband who loves me and enjoys spending time with me.
2. family! Our parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins, and those so close to us they are considered part of our family! Love you all!
3. health ... I am healthy ... could be healthier ... I'm working on that one.
4. home. I love our home. (Don't love cleaning it!)
5. furry companions ... Griz and Haley
6. job. I enjoy my job and am happy to talk about what I do.
7. China Adoption friends. People who have either BTDT or who are in the same place we are right now. Waiting. It's nice to have these people to talk to.

Giggle Quilt

I finished my quilt! (hooray!) Good timing too ... as it has started to sleet today. Bleck! I started this crazy quilt in February to cheer myself during the long dreary months that were left for the winter. Then, like most of my projects, it was put on hold for the summer months. I picked it up again this fall and finished it yesterday. This is my second quilt I have made, with the help of my mom. I don't consider myself a quilter like her. But I did okay! I used buttons to help tie it. I like the finished look of buttons rather than the yarn ends in a tied quilt. Not so soft to lay on ... but fine for covering up with. The name of the flowered fabric is called 'Giggles' which is funny because that was my nickname in jr. high school. (go figure, huh?) Next ... I have to find someone to quilt Jims quilt and then his will be about done. Then I can start on our Bai Jia Bei!

South Dakota Visit

This last weekend we went to South Dakota to visit my older brother and his family. It was fun to spend some time with them. The kids are awesome! I was even honored by being Kelsey's 'show and tell' on Friday at school! The pictures are of Jim and the kids at the bowling alley.

Baby Names

We have been thinking of baby names. Cassandra was a thought for a while. Hasn't been nixed yet. But these are the names we have been leaning towards as of right now. Sometimes we have been using them in conversation. They just seem right. We do have some time to change our minds. But unless something jumps out at us ... we are thinking one of these is it!

9!

Today is our 9 month LID-sary! Everything is fine. We are still waiting. We are still hopeful that things will start to speed up. I am determined to remain positive!
Today the CCAA posted that they have finished placement of children for the families whose adoption application documents were registered with their office before December 8, 2005. Congratulations to those families who will be receiving their referral calls today!
Number 9 is also a luck number, as it pronounces the same as Chinese character 久(jiǔ, long time), so number 9 implies everlasting, longevity and eternality.
