"Ride the river in this boat, ride the river"

Hello Henry Robert!

We have a new littlest nephew in our family! He was born on Monday, the 25th. He weighed 8lbs 8 1/2 oz. and was 21 in. long. Jim got to see him and hold him Wednesday. We both were over to visit last night. I held him for quite a while. He just snuggled up and slept the whole time. He is so precious!

18 Months since LID

The president of our agency reported talking with the CCAA in China. They told her that the wait will continue to grow. Nobody can give a definite time frame. They also added that as long as the American adoptive families are willing to wait, China will have a child for them. Families that are receiving their referrals within the next week or so have waited for 30 months. I had a minor melt down last night. I was angry. Jim brought me back down. He is good to me.

Breaking Dawn

2 1/2 days. I didn't try to see how fast I could read this book ... I just couldn't put the darned thing down! Friday night, during the Relay, my sister was able to pick up my copy at the release party. So I had it first thing Saturday when I woke up. I was only away from it during work today and just finished it now. Great book! Sad to see the saga end. I will have to reread it now ... to savor it a little more. :)

I-600A Free Extension Approved!

Our Home Study agency was not kidding when they said it was taking the U.S. Department of Homeland Security about 90 days to send out approvals. Tomorrow we would have hit that mark. But today we received the approval paperwork in the mail. Now our approval has been extended up to 12/6/2009. If we have not arrived home from China by then, we will have to file for ANOTHER extension. Chances are ... this WILL happen. And this next extension we will have to pay full price for. (heavy sigh!) But until then ... another milestone has been accomplished!
