Wisdom and Happiness Cardigan

I did it! I finished the sweater I was knitting! I must say ... I am pretty proud of myself. This is the first project I have completed that isn't a scarf, hat or blanket. And it actually looks pretty good. I started it this spring. Then summer rolled around and I didn't work on it at all. But then I picked it up again this last weekend and haven't been able to set it back down. (Just ask Jim!) Tonight I sewed on the buttons. Viola! The basic stitch is a bamboo pattern. The pocket on the left (your left) is Chinese for Wisdom. The other is Happiness.
Special thank you to my friend Tina for sharing this pattern with me!

7!

This last month some members from our January DTC group, January Jiaozi, participated in a recipe swap. We received 16 recipes that I can't wait to try! Thank you all!
Other than that ... work has kept us pretty busy during the week. And on weekends Jim has been out on the area rivers with his canoe. I have been out a few times now. It has been a lot of fun! This last excursion down the Straight River was a blast! (the river is anything but straight.)The group is now looking into getting kayaks.
Now it is September. The beginning of fall. We have been logged in for seven months now. Seven. The name George Costanza wanted to name their child. How funny!
